LayerCampgroundsView in app

See campsites, not just campgrounds

Roam Community merges campground maps with real map feed to create a more detailed representation of campsites. View how level each site is and observe availability directly on the app. Currently only available for federal campsites.

LayerDispersed campingView in app

Camp beyond the campground

No reservation? Use Roam Community's dispersed camping layer to see where you can camp with your car, by the land manager's own rules. Tap a road to see its surface, whether your car can make it, and how far off it you can camp. Signs on the ground always win.

All questions →
Is Roam Community free?
Yes. Sign in with Apple or Google and campgrounds and campsites (with availability), cell coverage, tree canopy, terrain grade, alerts and the current forecast are all free. Premium is $35.99 a year, with a 7-day free trial the first time, and adds signal heat maps, rivers, tides, noise and light pollution, snow depth, campground filters, trail routes and offline maps.
Where does the data come from?
Cell coverage is what AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile report to the FCC. Forecasts and climate normals come from NOAA, slope from USGS elevation data, and tree canopy from Meta’s canopy-height map and campers’ own scans. The app names the source of every layer.
Which campgrounds are covered?
Campgrounds across the United States, with site-by-site maps and availability for federal campgrounds (the ones booked on Recreation.gov) today. Browse them by state.
Is there an iPhone or Android app?
Yes. The iPhone app is on the App Store, and the Android app is on Google Play. The web app works in any browser, too.
